Fundraising Best Practices: Sharing the Results of Donating Online to 31 Nonprofits

Nonprofit Tech for Good

Each year I select 31 Favorite Nonprofits to which I donate 10% of my webinar income. Part of the reason is a commitment to altruism, but I also use (for lack of a better word) these 31 nonprofits to study how nonprofits are progressing in online fundraising, social media and mobile communications. That said, over the last few days I donated $25 to each of this year’s 31 Favorite Nonprofits and was dismayed to see that most of the nonprofits are not successfully integrating social media an

Lame spam of the day: Your Apple ID was used to sign in

Robert Weiner

I got three of these today. There are a bunch of clues that they're not legit. First, there's no Apple logo (easy enough to fake, but still.). Second, the Apple ID it says was used is not my Apple ID. Third, the From addresses are not at apple.com (again, easy to fake so why not take the time?). But of course the biggest clue is that if you hover over the "Learn More" links you'll see that they don't point Apple domains.

Beth's Blog: How Nonprofits Can Use Social Media

Flickr Photo by neoporcupine. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of doing a webinar on measurement and nonprofit for Kivi at the Nonprofit Marketing Guide. One of the questions I was asked, ”Why Data Informed? Why Not Data-Driven?” Being data-informed is something very different from a data-driven culture. The term “data-driven” has been used to describe organizations that rely solely on cold hard data to make decisions.
