I just finished reading the National Education Technology Plan , and I can recommend it to anyone interested in the future of technology in American education. These kinds of plans can be impenetrable, but I found this one quite readable and understandable. It is full of examples of interesting ed tech from for-profits and nonprofits, as well as local, state and federal government agencies.

Unlike the.ORG domain which can be registered by any individual or brand (but mostly registered by nonprofits and socially conscious for-profits), the new.NGO and.ONG domains can only be registered by nonprofits, charities, NGOs (non-governmental organizations), and ONGs (non-governmental organizations in a romance-based language ). Think about that for a second or two.

Recently I was looking for background information about implementing an LMS. Naturally I did what most people do and searched the Internet for “lms implementation.” After working my way down the list I noticed a link to the PDF “ 339 Tips on the Implementation of an LMS or LCMS ,” by the Elearning Guild. The document seemed interesting so I opened the link and noticed it was published November 20 th , 2006.
