Bookshare.org excitement

Beneblog: Technology Meets Society

I just got back from the ATIA conference, which included meetings of the National Instructional Materials Accessibility Standard (NIMAS) committees. VRM: CRM's flip side

Michael Stein's Non-profit Technology Blog

Every non-profit now talks about needing to improve their CRM. But thanks to a post by Jay Deragon , I've been doing some reading this week about the emerging concept of VRM, or Vendor Relationship Management -- If CRM refers to software-based tools for organizations to manage their relationships with customers, constituents, and supporters, VRM is the complimentary set of tools, helping those individuals to manage their relationships with companies, organizations, and communities.

For-profit or nonprofit: what's the issue?

Beneblog: Technology Meets Society

I frequently get asked by folks I know in the for-profit tech sector (where I come from), why we don't focus on making money. The team at Benetech seems very strong, and it seems clear we could go off and find a way to make big money. I agree. But, that's not Benetech. We chose a nonprofit form to do those things we were sure the for-profit world wouldn't do.

But so far all I've talked about is the toolkit: putting a ticketing system in place. What about those improved procedures? Actually, for our little company developing a ticketing system proved to be the key to process improvement: the system made it easier for us to describe,

Keeping a Gratitude Journal: Fuel for the Activist Life
