The Community Sector Council of Nova Scotia has conducted a non-partisan summary of the 4 major party policies from a community sector standpoint. They reviewed the platforms on overall supports to the nonprofit sector, key issues and challenges that the sector is working to address, and issues of importance to those working in the sector (mental health, burnout, childcare supports, etc.).

Here’s an excerpt from the resource:

“The following tables represent a summary of platform commitments from across the four major parties on issues relevant to the sector. Note that the identified issues may not exactly match the wording in the platforms and selections were made based on best alignments. Given the breadth of the issues addressed by our sector, it is possible that some information may have been overlooked. This work is not endorsed by any party. We are offering it as a tool to help inform your voting decision and to hold accountable any party that is elected. Regardless of the outcome, we are committed to continuing to raise awareness of the need for systems change in the community sector.”
