The WES Mariam Assefa Fund is looking to identify and fund promising solutions that can improve employer practices in Canada and engage employers in the economic integration of immigrants and refugees. Immigrants and refugees are key to Canada’s economic health today and to its future growth. Canadian employers, who have consistently reported labour shortages across a range of occupations, have a critical role to play in building more inclusive economies and supporting the success of immigrant and refugee workers. The Fund is particularly excited to meet organizations that: are led and staffed by people who bring lived experience from immigrant and refugee communities and communities of color; center workers voices, agency, and power in how they design and implement their solutions; and bring a systems-change mindset. For funding in 2021, please submit letters of intent (LOIs) through their application portal by June 30. Learn more here.

There will also be a webinar about this topic and funding opportunity on June 15. Please join to hear from leaders on engaging employers in the economic integration of immigrants and refugees.
