I had barely touched Joomla before I started playing with a Soapbox Engage demo, and it took me maybe 30 minutes to learn my way around the basics without any tutorials or guidance. This is ideal for organizations that have to quickly put up or change a form without having to worry about getting a web developer involved.

From the moment the end of Common Ground was announced, I’ve watched helplessly as two things happened: Organizations on Common Ground got angry (and a little panicked) and vendors and consultants who sell services and applications competitive to Common Ground seized opportunity. Is it meant to replace a consultant? Absolutely not.

While Common Ground’s batch tool was far from perfect, a lot of organizations used it and relied on it. The tool is primarily designed for individual donor gifts, but could be adapted for organization gifts depending on how rollups are set up and the fields that are added in the batch. More than worth the time it will save.

This year, there were enough nonprofit organizations already on Common Ground to warrant a session or two aimed at users, rather than just to sell existing Convio clients to the application as was found at previous Summits. Here's a little demo video I found if you're not familiar with it: 4. the AppExchange existed or 2.

Note to Expo vendors: When an attendee comes up to have a conversation about your product and she mentions that she is from a small nonprofit organization you should probably mention that your typical implementation of your ecommerce solution runs around $100,000 before you spend 10 minutes on a demo.

There is no bird's eye view for an organization. People in charge of the organization can look across all projects. Here's a demo user I created and added to a project. Instead of listing the tasks on the left with bars across the dates, 5 pm put the task names right in the interface. Is that too much to ask?
