I just got back form the Economic Self-Reliance Conference at Brigham Young University in Utah. When I attend conferences to give a keynote, I usually try to stick around for more of the conference and listen in to the other presenters. This practice was especially awarded at the ESR conference.

I'm at the NetSquared Conference yesterday and today. Pretty exciting: this sort of thing would have been hard to imagine not so long ago! Our new CTO, Patrick Ball, was attending and spoke on human rights. Patrick occasionally injected his reality checks into the proceedings.

Receiving the 2013 Migel Medal

Earlier today, I attended the American Foundation for the Blind’s (AFB) National Leadership Conference in Chicago where I received the 2013 Migel Medal. The Migel Medal, often called the highest honor in the blindness field, is awarded annually to one or two individuals whose careers exemplify exceptional accomplishments in the field.
