Recapping the 8th Annual Education Summit

Recapping the Salesforce Education Summit

On June 16, 2021, Salesforce and their co-sponsoring school, The University of Colorado, brought together an international Education Community for the 8th Annual Education Summit. For the second year in a row, this event was held virtually and featured appearances from inspirational educational leaders, including Former First Lady Michelle Obama, Professor Yuval Noah Harari, and a number of influential industry experts from across the Salesforce ecosystem. This year, Cloud for Good was proud to serve as a Platinum Sponsor for the event, and we also had the honor of co-hosting two breakout sessions educating on distinct implementations of the Salesforce platform. If you could not attend the live event, we’ve recapped all of the sessions below for your convenience. We hope to see you next year!

How the University of Vermont Reopened Their Campus Safely with Salesforce

Prior to harnessing the power of Salesforce technology, the University of Vermont (UVM) was leveraging a “one of everything, please” technology landscape, creating disjointed systems in the process. In the winter of 2019, the UVM team began an institutional CRM evaluation seeking to unite their systems campus-wide. However, when COVID-19 hit the United States in early 2020, their need for a new technology landscape was exponentially expedited.

The shift quickly led the university to Salesforce to meet the urgent needs of a COVID-19 Information + Service Center, while also providing a foundation for their new enterprise CRM. In less than a month, Cloud for Good and the University of Vermont launched the Service Cloud-hosted COVID center to great effect.

Through the power of Salesforce, the University of Vermont sent an initial COVID-related communication to over 30K contacts, has conducted over 430K COVID tests since August 2020, and became known as the most reliable and consistent place to obtain accurate and up-to-date information at the university.

Recruitment + Admissions Lifecycle on Salesforce: The UAB Story

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) was named the number one Best Large Employer for 2021 by Forbes this past February, and last year, the university had over 22K students enrolled for the fall 2020 semester.

Before implementing Salesforce, the university faced several challenges, including siloed business processes, data splits, and slow loading times on system tools and applications. However, after partnering with Cloud for Good to implement Marketing Cloud and the Salesforce Education Data Architecture using a three-phased approach, UAB established a centralized and standardized environment for enrollment management and engagement on the Salesforce platform.

The impact of these new technologies has dramatically improved the application experience for end-users, bettered the internal experience for UAB users, and has enabled their team to work towards a more connected campus.

Thank you to our speakers, clients, and partners that made Cloud for Good’s Education Summit experience so impactful. We look forward to many Education Summits to come!
