I was able to participate in the Naropa tradition of “bowing in” at the beginning of classes: a short meditation exercise to focus the mind on the people in the room.

Recently in a class that I am taking, I had to evaluate 150 children's books in 7 different categories. I also read some of my evaluated books to a class at a child care center. When a friend told me about Bookshare, I thought that "all was finally right in the world of being blind," at least from my prospective.

To Dubai on an Emirates Airbus 380

It was easier to say yes than usual: I'd never been to Dubai or the region, and the government of Dubai and Emirates airline offered to fly me there business class! The entire second floor is first and business class, and the first class (which I didn't get to see) is famous for having showers.

Two nights ago, I spoke at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, in a class on social enterprise taught by my buddy Jim Schorr, former CEO of Juma Ventures. Like many other classes in social entrepreneurship, it's way oversubscribed. Speaking at college campuses has to be one of the best parts of my work.
