So I think Nigel Dunn is onto something with his concept for a widget response network. Nigel blogged after listening to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Darfur and Chad Appeal over the weekend. It seems relevant to link the ‘widget response network’ concept to my first thoughts on Twitter.

Be A Voice for Darfur is an excellent example of multi-channel campaign designed to bring attention to the appalling genocide in Darfur. The genocide in Darfur continues - now in its sixth year and at the price of nearly half a million lives. Most importantly, you can influence others to stand up and be a voice for Darfur.

The Washington Post did a great article today that reinforces the value of nonprofits' using email as a core fundraising strategy rather then social networks. It seemed too early to tell, but then, when we checked back about a year later, we found this interesting and profound story about the nonprofit group "Save Darfur."
