Google Reader gets a good mention in my RSS article, Using RSS Tools to Feed your Information Needs , but deserves an even deeper dive. We've established that an RSS Reader helps you manage internet information far more efficiently than a web browser can; and we've talked in the last few posts about publishing feeds to your web site.

use a RSS reader and read feeds because it is part of my writing process. Lately, my RSS reading habits have changed. Like a farmer tending his crops, I'd scan through each folder, each feed, bookmarking and annotating what caught my eye, and looking for patterns and connections. Communicating ???Participating Finding ???Looking

You just take advantage of, the ever growing in popularity, RSS. RSS, or really simple syndication , is not new. However, I hardly ever hear people talking about RSS aggregators and what it can do for self-education. On other sites, they will display that logo, something similar, or even a link to the RSS feeds.

Just put in the RSS feed of your blog, and then use the Advanced Options to add a preface or suffix to your posts (this is where you could say, as I do, “New post: or something). I used the RSS feed of a specific tag, because I didn’t necessarily want every single item I bookmark to be tweeted out.
