Shortly As a remotely managed organization, we relied on the cloud to help run C3 until we leased our own office space in Alexandria, Virginia in 2007. Today, Judi Sohn, C3: Colorectal Cancer Coalition When When C3: Colorectal Cancer Coalition started in 2005, cloud computing wasn't the buzz word it is today.

I have used social media to help raise the money for her tuition through the Sharing Foundation in 2007 and 2008 . NedSpace is a 7,500 square ft co-working space for startups, innovative tech companies, artists, nonprofits and social entrepreneurs located in the heart of downtown Portland, Oregon. NedSpace is located at 920 SW Third (between Taylor & Salmon) Portland, Oregon.  In December 2006, I launched my first experiment in using social media for fundraising - raising $800 on my blog to help send Leng Sopharath, a young Cambodian woman, to her freshman year at college.

I was asked to start a conversation going with my fellow bloggers/readers and the other eleven 2007 Young and Aspiring Association Professionals (listed at the bottom of this post, who may or may not be familiar with this kind of blog-conversation format) as named by Association Trends back in November. As I was thinking about what would be a good topic for discussion, I came across this article by Jim Collins, via an email sent by Susan Fox, VP of the Forbes Group, to the executive section listserve of ASAE. In January, Starbucks ’ stores in: Alaska, Washington, Oregon, northern California, northern Nevada, New Mexico, Montana, Idaho, Texas, Maine, New Hampshire, parts of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and Rhode Island were rBGH-free. Guess what? Your advocacy made a difference.

I got a chance to meet Amy when I was in Portland, Oregon a few weeks back to do a workshop and really appreciated the opportunity to geek out about nonprofit tech and social media! I'm really excited because I'm doing a workshop for the Meyer Memorial Trust in Portland, Oregon on Friday, December 7th . The topic is on social media. I'm working on some new material and we're doing some small group exercises where participants will come up with some ideas about how to develop a social media strategy, identify metrics, and look at outcomes.
