There’s been a bit of talk lately in the technosphere about the role of blogs in the new real-time web. Louis Gray has a wonderful post on the subject that reflects my own opinion, “Blogging Is Still the Foundation In A World of Streams.&#. I think there’s another benefit to a blog: it’s a mandatory time out.

I’m amazed that after all these years, no one has come out with a killer offline blog editor for the Mac yet. It seems like there’s more development energy going towards iPhone blog editors than desktop versions. Well-known knit blogger Stephanie Pearl-McPhee complains about it here. It’s just gone.

When I first dropped my self-hosted blog and relocated it to Posterous last year after a bit of a hacking incident , I had trouble importing the old content. So as a quick fix I dropped it here, on WordPress.com , so as not to lose everything going back to 2003. I’m sure I missed a few here and there. I can live with that.

As a blogger, there’s a lot to like about 2.7. I was originally planning to wait before upgrading this blog. Tags: WordPress Blogging. I was waiting to be sure my theme was compatible, which it now is. for a while now. As an editor, not so much. For starters, the “at a glance&# view in WordPress 2.6.x WordPress 2.5
