The SXSW Interactive Festival (scheduled March 11-15, 2010 in Austin, Texas) is a mega huge social media industry event. What are the lessons learned from Free Agents about working with nonprofits? In addition to the graphic facilitation, there will be other interactive learning elements. It was organized by Ed Schipul.

Once we learned all flights were grounded, we quickly arrived at the decision to abandon our plans and drive back to Austin at once. was also surprised that El Paso, TX is only the half-way point between LA and Austin. Last week, we helped out our friends at Visible Government with their Beers for Canada campaign. In the end, the campaign raised just over $1,000 in two days; donations will help open government data to citizens and promote transparency in public offices. What did we learn? To visit the site and learn more? How it worked.

As I learned from attending the just completed Convio Summit in Austin, Texas, a discussion about APIs and databases fortunately doesnt have to be technical. Well, thats exactly where APIs can be helpful. Other providers, such as Blackbaud may follow their lead. Its basically about storing and retrieving information.

People from the Austin area who are on Twitter and either came across the tweet-up or were in by someone else via tweet congregated to meet each other, and of course, donate blood.
