How Culture Makes Cloud for Good a Great Place to Work

Cloud for Good was recently recognized as one of the 2021 Best Small & Medium Workplaces™ by Great Place to Work® and Fortune magazine.  This is Cloud for Good’s second-straight year, and third time in the past five years, being named to this prestigious list, showcasing Cloud for Good as one of the best companies to work for in the country.  Perhaps more importantly, Cloud for Good was placed on this list as a direct result of survey responses from current employees.

The Best Small & Medium Workplaces award is based on an analysis of survey responses from more than 280,000 current employees.  The list is constructed according to highly competitive criteria using rigorous analytics and confidential employee feedback.  In our survey, 97% of Cloud for Good’s employees said Cloud for Good is a great place to work.  That percentage is 38% higher than the average U.S. company.

On the recognition, Founder and CEO Tal Frankfurt remarked, “For the third year, Cloud for Good has been recognized as one of the Best Small & Medium Workplaces, and I am incredibly humbled, yet undeniably proud, of this huge achievement.  This award brings me great joy, as it is a testament to our company’s commitment to ensuring our staff and our culture are second to none, even as we continue to grow year over year.  We truly have the strongest team in the Salesforce ecosystem, and I’m honored by that team’s affirmation in the culture we’ve built at Cloud for Good.”

Great Place to Work is the only company culture award in America that selects winners based on how fairly employees are treated.  Companies are assessed on how well they are creating a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender identification, age, disability status, or any aspect of who employees are or what their role is.

100% of Cloud for Good survey respondents agreed that they believed management would lay people off only as a last resort and that special events, such as birthdays, work anniversaries, or promotions, are celebrated across the company.  99% of respondents believe that management is honest and ethical in its business practices, that employees are given the resources and equipment necessary to succeed in their respective positions, and that when employees look at what both they and the company at large have accomplished, they feel a sense of pride in those results.

As Vice President, People and Operations, Lindsey Ciochina has her finger on the pulse of Cloud for Good’s company culture and dedicates time each day to ensure that the culture is befitting of the Great Place to Work certification, making her distinctively qualified to acknowledge the significance of such recognition:

“Taking intentional steps towards staying an inclusive workforce and maintaining a culture of open-door communication, even as an entirely distributed workforce, is a consistent priority at Cloud for Good.  Since our inception, we’ve continued to prioritize employee care – creating space for people to bring their whole selves to work to thrive and grow.  We offer competitive benefits, including flexible work schedules to accommodate families, volunteer time off, professional development, and mental health care.

We also have a Diversity and Inclusion Committee that works on critically important aspects of society and our company culture, from race, gender, identity equality, staff learning opportunities, celebrating holidays like Juneteenth, and recognizing LGBTQ Pride Month.  I believe maintaining an inclusive, learning-focused workforce where our employees can feel seen, valued, and heard has played a large part in our recognition by Fortune and Great Place to Work.”

Austin Sherman serves as Cloud for Good’s Recruitment Lead, bridging the gap between open Cloud for Good positions and potential candidates to help further build the #BestTeamEver.  The nature of his role at the company offers him unique insights into what those who are open to work are looking for and what Cloud for Good can provide them:

“I absolutely LOVE the culture here at Cloud for Good, in fact, it’s what initially attracted me to this company and what keeps me excited day in and day out.  In my position as Recruiting Lead, I’m always telling potential candidates that our biggest selling point is our culture, our values, and the way we prioritize work/life balance.

Most people I talk to that are currently consulting are working 50-60 hours a week, juggling anywhere from 5 to 15 clients/projects at a time.  Here at Cloud for Good, our consultants generally work a typical 40-hour week, focusing on a maximum of 2 projects at a time.  We care about managing our employees’ workloads so that they can enjoy their time off after work, on weekends, or during paid time off and volunteer time off.  I’m proud to be part of a team that raises the bar and sets the standard for having a great company culture that respects work/life balance.

I also love our culture because most of us have worked with, or have a strong desire to work with, nonprofits and higher education institutions.  The result of building such an empathetic, progressive, and diverse team is that we have a group of truly great people here that want to make a difference in the world.  It doesn’t get much better than that.”

Since 1992, Great Place to Work® has surveyed more than 100 million employees worldwide and used those deep insights to define what makes a great workplace: trust.  Cloud for Good is profoundly proud and grateful for our commitment to culture, inclusion, and trust to be reflected through placement on this list.  Thank you to all our wonderful Goodies for maintaining our commitment to excellence and creating the #BestTeamEver.
