Adobe: Beta is not an excuse

Judi Sohn

And Adobe, this rant’s for you. I was very excited when Adobe introduced Acrobat.com. But more often than not our staff is unable to connect to the server with their Adobe IDs in order to publish/check for new comments. But what was Adobe thinking when they fully baked Acrobat.com into their Acrobat Pro desktop software?!?

Goodbye iPhone – First 24 hours of Android

Judi Sohn

Since the desktop Zinio app is build on Adobe Air and Adobe technologies are better supported on Android, it’s not that surprising. The Zinio iPhone app only worked with a handful of my subscriptions. I was pleased to discover that every magazine I subscribe to is available through the Android app. The larger screen helps too.

Judi Sohn

It’s a bit like buying Microsoft Office or Adobe Create Suite, rather than using Apple Mail as your email application and Microsoft Word for your word processor and Google Docs when you want to edit a spreadsheet. Best of vendor vs. best of breed.

Does my perfect Twitter client exist?

Judi Sohn

It’s Adobe. Play nice with others in its own space. The AIR clients take a ridiculous amount of CPU and RAM after running for just a few hours. It’s not the developer’s fault. Let me decide how it looks. Seesmic Desktop has some nice features, but on every release I keep waiting for the real interface.
