How to make a difference in a touch economy: get creative and share the wealth!

Connection Cafe

It's no surprise that every other blog post you read these days talks about how to raise money, stretch funds and build supporters in the current economic climate. In the nonprofit technology community, I've heard stories of cut backs on "nice to have" items and expenses such as travel and training so that organizations can focus on their most critical goals first and cut back on what they deem not to be completely necessary.

Present with me at the NTC!

Connection Cafe

I've been asked to lead a session at this year's NTC conference in San Francisco (April 26-28). I'm honored to contribute because the NTC ( NTEN's annual get together) is the conference to attend for anyone working in the technology field for nonprofits. Having attending 6 or 7 now it's definitely an event I look forward to and highly recommend. If your organization is pinching pennies these days but you'd like to go, check out the scholarship program to help send qualified 501c3 staff.

Empower Your Event

The presentation was highly informative and it really got the wheels in my head spinning. They brought up some interesting points on the challenges of keeping an event fresh and exciting, year after year. Some of the tips they shared, on what has worked for them, stood out and so I thought I would share them with our Connection Café readers.

Hunting for a Good Experience

I've scoured Craigs List, rental companies, real estate agencies, and even done quite a few neighborhood drivebys. I'm not usually this thorough, but I don't want to have to move again in a year, so I wanted to be sure that my next place was a keeper.
