I carried an old-fashioned flip phone for so long that some of my friends at the Convio Summit 2010 made fun of me. I branched out with an iPod touch, and that was my gateway into the smartphone world. I was not an early adopter of a mobile device. And I've never looked back. I take my phone everywhere. I mean EVERYWHERE.

Nielsen reports that as of Q1 2010 , 23% of people with mobile devices now have a smartphone instead of a regular old boring/dumb cell phone. And while I don't have a smartphone myself, I do have an iPod touch that I used to access websites while on maternity leave. Rather, I want to convince you of the NEED to do it.
