For instance, on 12/22/2008, an article about Obama and Eugene Kang appeared on the Washington Post. I’ve started working with more and more Wordpress-based nonprofit Web sites such as those at asianamericansforobama.com and apaforprogress.org , stepping in after the site has been set up. What follows is a checklist of common errors that I’ve seen that you can use with your site designer if your non-profit is creating a Wordpress site.

Both the New York Times and the Washington Post commented that the resulting show is not that visually impressive, but they are comparing Click! There’s a value of this exhibition that extends beyond the exhibition itself. We’re accustomed to the notion that people are enfranchised in the democratic process. Our friends at Washington Toxics Coalition just launched a fantastic little online video that shows a really creative, effective blend of online and offline activism.
WTC has been gathering signed postcards from their network of activists, asking decisionmakers, most especially Christine Gregoire and Dino Rossi, Washington State’s two candidates for Governor, to make protecting kids from toxic chemicals a high priority in the upcoming legislative session.
So WTC chose to hand-deliver the postcards to their campaign offices in bulk — a great decision that really helps establish Washington Toxics as a powerful voice for concerned citizens, and helps them build up their organizational identity with their targeted decisionmakers.

A group of association executives from a variety of organizations joined Jeff , Amy , and me last Friday, November 14 at the Greater Washington Board of Trade to talk about web usability testing and how it can improve the online member experience.
After a short networking reception and introductions, Amy, one of Beaconfire's information architecture and usability consultants, led us through a brief discussion of what usability testing is and why it's used. Often, when organizations are designing or redesigning their Web sites, the focus can end up being primarily internal.

There was a fascinating conversation with Dan Beyers of the Washington Post, which is still clearly struggling with how to navigate between its "old media" sense of professional hierarchy and entitlement to "real" news and its buy-in to "new media" vehicles which is what its audience wants and which is taking place with or without the paper. Had a REALLY GREAT time at BlogPotomac , a Social Media Marketing conference for bloggers organized by Livingston Communications (you may have heard of their blog, the Buzz Bin, linked later in this post). Before everything gets superseded by the
