I moved to Oakland in September of 2008, for a number of reasons. I chose a college that was in rural Vermont, and I did live in the suburbs of Cleveland, OH for six years, but followed that up with two years in northern, rural-ish Colorado, and almost eighteen years in Western Massachusetts.
