Cisco donation recipient Three Square Food Bank in Las Vegas is a strong ally in this essential hunger relief work. Capital Area Food Bank of Texas : The mission of the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas is to nourish hungry people and lead the community in ending hunger. In 2008, CAFB distributed more than 17 million pounds of food.

On an appeal focused on the global food crisis, we sent half the recipients a version mentioning the impact of the economic collapse on world hunger, while a control group got the straight appeal. At least, it did in late 2008. Our hunch was correct: the donors who got the appeal mentioning the economy responded at a lower rate.

All you had to do was click and play a word game, and that leveraged a food donation to fight hunger. In 2008, we started to see click action philanthropy on Facebook with Lil Green Patch raising over $100,000 for the Nature Conservancy. The game was very engaging for adults and children alike. .
