Why does Google + launch new stuff when I’m on a book deadline !! The long awaited brand pages on Google + are here. I put a post out on Google + asking what nonprofits had set up pages and was able to identify 88 from all the responses and placed them in a open circle here. I browsed through these nonprofit brand pages today, and it appears many grabbed the tip sheet Google nonprofits and set up their pages – some more fully than others.

Last week, I attended Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen ‘s Giving 2.0 book launch at Stanford University with my children, Harry and Sara. The book’s message is simple. Anyone and everyone who gives anything — time, money, experience, skills, networks — in any amount to create a better world can be philanthropist. She shared many stories of philanthropists with far less money and notoriety than celebrities and wealthy people we typically think of as philanthropists.

I had the privilege of attending an event for A Billion + Change , a national campaign to mobilize billions of dollars in skills-based and pro bono volunteer services to help build the capacity of nonprofit organizations to effectively meet community needs.
